忽然之间

felt like i haven blogged in ages, like really blogging about my life. had been so busy recently with work piling in like nobody's business. its week 5 this coming week and then Easter hols for a week.

“忽然之间 天昏地暗 世界可以忽然什么都没有”

i'm listening to 忽然之间 by Karen Mok after mic randomly hummed it yesterday night, i was like what is this song?! super super super super nice. the play count for this song on my itunes is already like 50 after just one day? i think her voice is really special, there's just something in it that makes her songs really unique and emotional.

wana share this hilarious picture of my beloved blue top which shrank after i threw it into the washing machine to wash. :(((( its like half of my body now.

other than that, life has been... life. go for classes, go out for meals, tutorial, school work, tutorial, school work and the cycle never ends.

ohh, maybe something worth mentioning, i joined the school's fitness program, so now i have unlimited access to the school's fitness classes. went for Yoga, Pilates and BodyStep so far and to summarise the experience, Yoga = body breaking and toppling off balance, BodyStep = heart attack. that's it.

reminder

i'm not trying to sound like an oldie in her last few years of life, reflecting and giving advice on how life should be like.

but i just feel really strongly about this, that life is really all about attitude. and your thoughts really determine everything about you and your life.

just like how you can dwell upon something that happened and wallow in self pity, thinking about how unfair things had been, you can take it under a different light and try standing up to these unfair or uncontrollable situations. standing up doesn't just restrict to physical efforts, standing up includes adjusting your mindset to the whole issue. probably its the blind faith i have in me, but i choose to think everything happens for a reason.

i came across this during the JC days, and still feel very strongly about this:
anything that does not kill you makes you stronger.

so if you are feeling pain, weak, sad, angry, messed up or whatever negative emtions it might be now, be glad and thankful that you are feeling. don't build a narrow wall of self-pitiness and sadness around you. change your attitude and perspective, emerge out of the situation stronger than ever.

/this shall serve as a reminder for myself, and everyone else when the going gets tough.

ps. kelsey, the whole emotional balance thing is happening i realise. haha.

care and share

been wanting to share these little things that happened but kept forgetting, so i've decided to do it now, once and for all.

this happened when mic just came back to melbourne and we were having dinner together.

VAL: michh, did you miss me? :)))
MIC: *swallows food* (since we were having dinner) *looks up* which part of me looks like i don't miss you?

hahaha this was soooo good. such a sweet talker you are michy. (hey mickey you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind hey mickey! hey hey hey mickey!)

another thing to share about is an advertisement our lecturer showed us during Product Management lecture. it was so good, the ad. haaa.

SETTING: Supermarket

this father and son, (about 4 years old?) were shopping for groceries in the supermarket. the little boy set his hands on a packet of candies and put it into the shopping trolley. the father took the candies out and put it back onto the rack. the boy took the candies and put it right back into the trolley. and the dad put it back again.

the boy looked unhappy. he started screaming, "i want the candies!", "I WANT THE CANDIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

this commotion attracted many curious looks from other shoppers in the supermarket.

the boy started rolling on the floor and threw a tantrum. he rolled, stood up and started throwing products on other shelves onto the floor.

the onlookers looked sympathetically at the father. and the father appeared helpless.

at the end of the advertisement, 2 words sprang out to cover the whole screen.

USE CONDOMS!

the whole lecture group burst out laughing for quite some time. the idea was sooo good haha, i was still thinking what this ad's trying to sell man. haaa.

another thing, think this is a normal note pad and pen? well then you are wrong! check out what this pen can do. haha.

:D

that's about it for my care and share session. more interesting stuff to share in future. :)

all the untold stories behind those smiley faces

sometimes as you age you'll see, that the world just isn't as simple as black and white. other colours start to appear. it isn't just happy or sad. hot or cold. long or short. up or down.

sometimes when you smile, it doesn't just mean you're good.

tonight's party was awesome. more than awesome. more than more than awesome.

but all the untold stories behind those smiley faces. all the broken hearts behind those smiley masked face.

when can we truly get there?

honeymoon first week

its like living in an air conditioned room everyday these few days. but the temperature's so unstable, sometimes very cold, sometimes warm (sometimes when we touch). been wanting to blog so badly cause the things to blog about has been piling up, but somehow time always slip by me so fast!

honeymoon first week's over in a blink of eye. kinda settled in my new apartment now, and for the last time, i love staying in the city! :) one small hiccup in our experience with the new apartment though - choked kitchen sink. horrible stuff, couldnt use the kitchen sink for days and the water's stuck in the sink for days as well. plumber came this morning and fixed everything within like 20mins or so? never love plumbers more for their magic hands. :)

bought new havainas at the summer clearance sale last week with 40% off, so it costs like only $18?! :D was so happy after i made the purchase. ohh i bought a cute apple clip on as well! aint they cute together? heees.

had a belated birthday celebration dinner for mic last wednesday at Yar Restaurant, a korean and japanese buffet restaurant. the following night, we made our way to St Kilda's night market after school, it was okay (maa maa (okay, alright in jap haaa)). there were many small cute stalls, music (live band playing country music), crowds, spontaneous audience dancing with the music, food and a secretive lemonade stall (cause the owner didnt allow me to take photo of the stall! :( ). love this photo taken at the tram stop haha.

and val dear bought her Baby Geek specs for our housewarming party this coming friday! sneak preview of her dress code before friday.

met up with the year two peeps on friday night to catch up (we have no classes together since we're doing different majors now!) had dinner, then some after dinner drinks and hang out in our new house till bout 12plus. everyone likes our new apartment very much! :) and looks like its gonna be the new hanging out place very soon. haaa. (i super dun mind the idea)

check out mic stealing cake for supper at night! hahaha.

DA SHAO CHU, cleaned the entire house on saturday after finally getting a vacuum cleaner. did the week's worth of laundry, cleaned the toilet, tidy up the house and stuff. was preparing for brunch when the hailstorm happened. haha. super funny.

SETTING

the sky looked very ominous with heavy and dark clouds passing very quickly that noon. i was spreading butter making egg mayo sandwich with mic sitting opp me. it started raining then and we thought, okayy, rain. i love rainy days.

then the rain's splattering sound sounded very wrong. its like a million rocks dropping on your roof, your windows and on the ground. we went to the windows to check out what's going on and realised omg its raining hails. luckily we were at home and i totally started a live commentary of the storm on FB. took photos of the whole storm as well.

the start of the storm looked like this. hails on our balcony. and after awhile our balcony started to flood, at the same time paper bags of unknown origins started flying into our balcony. i thought our windows and balcony door might just shatter from the force of the storm and hails. and then we thought maybe 2012 is just gonna happen.

check out the view from my room and the living room when the storm is at its full force. i see the need to show the normal view from my room without the storm too.

then when the view cleared abit, we looked out the window to find a flooded Elizabeth St below us! goshh and the poor pedestrains were all trapped under the inadequate shelter outside the shops. after that we learnt that most shops, restaurants and even banks were flooded. we could see restaurants sweeping water out when the storm ended. and our internet connection was cut off shortly after the storm. -.-

that's about it for the storm part. went grocery shopping and used our kitchen for the first time on sunday to prepare dinner. invited mingyang, mic's ex neighbour over for dinner as well. the night was quite fun cause he blasted his ipod and we totally made up a mini kbox session with it. haaa. and i made a photo board that night for my room, using those photos i developed in singapore. after much thought, i decided to place the board on top of my bed, so its like the main highlight everytime i enter the room. :)

went to school on monday morning and my friendly neighbours told me in the lift that there's moomba festival at 11am on Swanston St. it was suppose to be over the weekend but i guess the storm caused everything to be postponed. i think i'll upload the photos on FB this post's taking too long. neways on my way to school, snapped some photos of the performers of the moomba festival. quite cool.

then while skyping with kel at night, i was totally surprised and taken aback cause i heard some loud crack, looked up, and saw fireworks exploding in front of me! i was like OMG its the fireworks from the Moombo Festival! and we get to see it from our apartment, its like staying near marina/esplanade in singapore. fireworks are indeed a public good and we third parties gain positive externality out of it. is that right? hahaha. econs.

our dinner yesterday night - red wine, garlic and onion chicken, brocolli and soup. after dinner, yang surprised both mic and i by showing up at our place with his ai xin dessert haha.

kitchen close shop tonight, went out for dinner at J Cafe, this place that sells very awesome sushi burger and curry rice (coming from someone who dun like Jap Curry Rice). shopped for our housewarming party this coming friday after dinner.

okayy week 2 of school, がんばってね! :)

みなさん、今日はお元気ですか?

let me blog more when the days are still free. but i reckon i'll have much more time this sem since my days start at 11am.

毎日朝10時に起きることにしています。

i have decided to wake up at 10 every morning. the day's so much longer this way, and i realise i'll have so much more free time in the afternoon after school. my timetable's all set and done! a 5-day week, not that i can control since lectures cant be changed. but i'm happy enough, at least i dun have any long breaks in between classes. :)

went for jap seminar in the morning just before noon and as we proceed on, the classes become smaller. from Jap 1A, overfull seminars and 2 lecture streams, to Jap 1B, smaller lecture groups, to now Jap 2A, 1 lecture stream, 95% full seminars. best of all i feel so noob in class now with all my fellow beginner classmates gone. seems like people taking Jap 2A have Jap background in high school, like they've taken VCE Japanese before (something like GCE A's in Jap). everyone's so fluent in Jap and seems to be always in the know. even the teacher is speaking more in Japanese to us now.

がんばってね ユミンさん!

oo btw michelle's back! :) sleeping in her room now after a tiring flight. had chinese takeaway for lunch today, bought stir fried noodles and the box looked so cute! wana share with you my favourite juice here in melbourne as well. Berri fresh apple and mango juice! most awesome juice ever. if Peel Fresh was to be established here, i think they will go bankrupt in no time! haha.

*yawns* i wana take a nap now (so much for waking at 10 everyday).

sometimes when we touch

"and who am i to judge you, on what you say or do
i'm only just beginning, to see the real you"

i am sipping on to the leftover iced choc. from yesterday night's Koko Black and listening to Sometimes When We Touch, by Olivia Ong again. am totally addicted to this song, replayed like a thousand times (exaggeration here), and i totally love this line. who am i to judge you, on what you say or do~. before you start judging someone, remember you are just beginning to see the real them. :)

i am incorrigible. kept drinking latte everyday since i arrived! but seriously Kere Kere, a small coffee stall at a super ulu part of Uni Melb serves the best coffee in town! like even better than Starbucks or whatever. and i ate alot of sushis too. oppps. lovely!

i am so proud of myself today, blasted the room with music in the evening and started unpacking everything. finally by 10pm tonight i unpacked all my luggages, boxes, plastic bags and shopping bags i used to shift house. now everything's so neat and tidy. :) mich's coming back tomorrow morning, not really excited cause i have to wake up at 8.30am to open door for her. haha. but still, looking forward to the new life with her! <3

helped val dear shift her stuff in my house to her college yesterday night, and in return she treated us to dinner! had awesome thai food at Thai City instead of the more famous Ying Thai cause it is closed on Mondays. and it's really authentic thai food man. even the waitress is from thailand i think. melbourne rocks for that. :)

oh and i almost froze to death yesterday night with only shorts and a long sleeve top. the weather is crazy, drop by 10 degrees at night and caught us all offguard. im gonna be more alert from now on to prevent these unpleasant situations. haha.

btw! i was suppose to share this in my previous post but as you can see from the length of my previous post, i decided not to in the end. was shopping for some basic groceries like bread on sunday night at a big supermarket in town (have to emphasize that), and came across this sight on the bread rack.

haha. awesome!
