i'm only just beginning, to see the real you"
i'm munching on to Grainwaves, listening to Sometimes When We Touch, by Olivia Ong and typing this post. all has been well so far. i like my new house, its something like home. :) wayyyyyy better than College Sq that ulu loo place on lygon st which always gives the lone feel. and best of all, i dun have to take tram home from the city anymore. just walk. and i like the idea very much. :)
this post's gonna be long. i warn first.
because renee complained that the pictures are too small, i'm gonna upload it in medium size, so photos' gonna be real big this time. it all starts from packing for melb. thanks for coming to the airport despite your busy schedules girls.
/awesome! i cant upload photos into my blog now for reasons i'm not aware of. awesome!
/and now there are photos because i changed to upload them in small size. sorry renee i tried. but medium is really too big anyway. if you think small's too small, click on them and they'll enlarge in another window. :)
it feels quite stupid actually to be snapping photos on the plane, try it next time and you'll know why. but i still took some since i promised this post. so this is the view from my seat, smack right in the middle of 3 seats on the left aisle. the setting of the plane is 3 seats on the left aisle, 4 in the middle and 3 on the right. supper was fish and potato or clam chicken with 3 treasure fried rice, i chose fish and potato since dinner before was fried rice for me.
i flipped through the entire SIA entertainment magazine to find no shows of my interest. randomly chose one australian film, Charlie and Boots which sucked totally. worst of all movies i've ever watched. if Wolfman was half a popcorn (ratings/review), Charlie and Boots has to be -5 popcorns. but i finished it anyway. oh another thing, there's a cup holder beside the screen. i think its quite cool and convenient cause we can just put our cups there while doing other things, without the need to open the dining table. *thumbs up* for that. :)
read abit of all the books given to me before boarding the plane (will elaborate more on this in another post), prayed abit, listened to my updated ipod, dozed abit, listened somemore, dozed abit more, then breakfast came at about 3am. its muffin and a bun with butter and jam. listened to my ipod again, dozed abit more, and we landed.
the airport was insanely crowded that morning, no exaggeration. everything needed waiting for. flights from all over started arriving after we landed; Singapore, Phuket, Hong Kong, Germany. i know cause i heard the PA system announcing, passengers who arrived from flight xxx from country please collect your baggages at baggage claim row no..
while i was waiting for my luggages, the airport staff took the dogs out to sniff for drugs and i was frantically trying to get myself out of the dogs' way. eyes on the dogs instead of the luggage belt. scary. not that i have drugs. okay fine i have heroine in my bag yea. OKAY in case the cops are so sensitive these days, im just kidding! i'm actually just scared of dogs. :) (sweet smile) (im sucha SL, SU LA haha.)
and finally after collecting my luggages and putting them onto a trolley, i made my way towards the exit sign. and way before i reach the declaration point, there was actually a queue to the queue to exit. yes. waited quite abit before reaching the declaration point where you'll separate into different queues if you declare food or if you declare nothing. i declared food on the incoming card.
to my surprise, the officer asked me what food i have even before we separate into the different queues, and i said "tomato sauce and chilli sauce", conveniently forget to mention about the Bak Kut Teh spices (i wonder if it's angry listening in the bag), and he told me to go to that exit (pointing towards a door), which i thought is another place for luggage checking. so i went past that door, looked up, and i received many anticipating glares. some holding on to A4 size name cards. im out of the custom! haha. yes, with my luggages unchecked, unscanned. now im quite sure i do have a sincere, honest, pretty and cute looking face. :) (sweet smile again)
took a cab to my new address and my eyes almost popped out from the dry-ness in the plane. wanted to do nothing else but sleep since i didnt sleep much the whole night. but my bed was this welcoming.
totally regretted not washing my bedsheets and quilt before i went home last semester. now i have to do it before i can sleep. best of all, because im new to the place, i have no idea how to operate the washing machine. and i cant find the manual, so i did what i always did during exams with challenging questions - try and error.
threw the bedsheets and leftover laundry from last sem inside and started pressing randomly. the machine started. water sound (good, water's coming out, the way a washing machine should be like), then the water sound stopped in a few secs (huh?! so fast one meh? the machine's not even half filled with water!), machine roared with weird sounds as it started spinning or whatever it is doing (omg the machine's gonna explode, what did i just do to it?) started pressing and turning randomly again. the machine stopped, then spinned again, then the swashing and swooshing sound.
OMG. THAT'S IT. try and error needs to be stopped. started looking around for the machine manual and fortunately before the machine explode, i found the manual and set it properly to wash and then dry automatically. *phew* what a welcoming present back in melbourne i thought. washed the filter jug and changed the catridge so i have water to drink. whoever who caused the ban for water on planes ought to feel guilty! hmph!
while waiting for the laundry which took forever, i unwrapped the new mattress and took out pillows. was soo tired that before i could stop myself, i was already dozing off on the mattress without any bedsheets and pillow case (horrible me!). that was about 11plus am i think.
i woke up at 1pm later when val called me to talk for awhile. she said she was on her way to meet anthony for dim sum, say she's coming over later for awhile, asked me if i wanted food. no i dun want food, i want sleep, i thought. woke up to find the laundry's ready, though still abit damp, but it's decently clean and dry. threw the quilt in to wash, put the bedsheet and pillow cases on and went back to sleep.
awoke next at 3pm when val called again saying she's coming now. woke up and pack the house abit. she came to pack her stuff that's in my house with anthony. then we talked until about 4plus 5, i went out to get stuff (power extension cord and socket board, if not no power) and dinner. i woke up too late for Melb Uni bookshop so didnt get the modem for internet. washed up, packed my room, and KO-ed at 10pm later that night. look at the difference of my bed. through my magic hands, its so warm and welcoming now. and the laptop, printer, table lamp and table are all fixed too! nice. :)
slept all the way till 11am this morning and went out to get modem and lunch. need to get myself connected by then. need to know what's happening to the world. feeling weird without internet. lunch is latte (vanilla latte please) and 2 special california sushi rolls, which i delayed eating once im connected to the internet. heee.
met up with the melbb loves later that afternoon for St Kilda's Beach. was so cold and windy today. over! then saw this beautiful sight along the beach. the sun rays shooting out from the curtain of dark clouds.
they are God's rays of hope in period of dark times (at least that's what i see, you can try to see other things out of it! :) ).
"Dear God, thank you for loving me. Thank You for this day, and the beautiful world i live in. Thank You for my family and friends to play and share my life with. Thank You for my home, for clothes and food, and a safe place to be. Dear God, help me to do what You want me to do. Forgive me when i do wrong things, when i hurt myself and those around me. Forgive me when i hurt You. Make me want to be the very best that i can be. In Jesus name, i pray. Amen."
this is a prayer attached to the small hands bible Lee Si gave me before i left. i find it very applicable, so i prayed it. i am still abit lost in my journey with Christ, but i know, all will be well.
school's starting tomorrow. first week of school, ganbatte!
