as the title suggests, yes a burglary took place at my block last monday! gosh this is terrible, with all the security, cctv, card and everything, cant believe it happened.
last monday i was at home preparing to go for tennis when i heard a sound coming from my door, like someone trying to open the door knob very very lightly, but of course he/she whoever (my strong instinct tell me its a he!) cant open since the door was locked. so the sound's like tick then gone. because its usually very quiet here, like really quiet you can hear the tiniest sound. so i hurried over to the peep hole and yes peep out but i saw no one! so i thought i might have imagined the sound or something and went for tennis.
when i came back at night immediately saw notices looking for lost laptops, mp3 and bag. and the next day notices asking us to lock our doors and close our windows from the authorities. then everything started falling into place. on the same day one of the victim posted a notice telling us what happened. he said the burglar(s) went around checking everybody's doors, if it's unlocked, he just went in and took laptops. worst of all he said he's not the only one who's laptop got stolen! apartments which were not locked on the entire level all suffered. included my level. so thats 2. maybe more who knows. but i think he suffered (economically) most because he lost 2 laptops, 1 mp3 and 1 bag! gosh laptop! i would rather lose cash then laptop can! its our only tool to connect to the world and all our assignments, data, photos, songs, shows are all in it! cant imagine my life without my delly man. though sometimes its abit loud abit slow abit "sort" abit heavy, (not alot what) but you know, its okay because i cant live without it!
alrighty yes i know i always lock my door and never ever opens my window (because there's a big fat spider living on my window sill! humph xiang4 hua4 ma1) so i guess i'll be fine? but that incident left me more suspicious than ever, respond to the tiniest tiniest sound and become so yi shen yi gui. haha always thinking someone will spring into my house when im bathing or something.
right its week 11 into the semester and next week will be the last week of sem 1! :)) okay i won't say what everybody is saying, "don't you think time passes very fast?" no i refuse to agree because i want to go home!!!! so please double your speed so i can go home, and when i reach home slow down again can? heehee. oh no im sorry i take back my words, i forgot all about exams! hahaha.
anyways its time to choose new subjects for next sem now and im troubled. yes very troubled over breadth subject. i duno what to take as breadth! :( definitely not continuing with psychology that's for sure. probably i'll take up a language or something, not many choices anyway. chinese? hahaha siao. probably take something practical and usable. like hmm, indonesian aka malay or japanese? im not decided yet. most probably i'll take malay i think. i know everybody will go like eee why you take malay? but hey what's wrong with malay? we're surrounded by malay speaking countries and at least i can use it when i go malaysia or something. haha or converse with malay friends in malay. so its rather practical and won't forget that easily plus its in abc too, so shouldn't be as hard as jap eh. :D

stay healthy
my shoulder muscles are sore from holding the mouse for too long and my eyes cant function anymore. crazy accounting assignment! can totally fight with psychology essay. my poor eyes, it was seeing abcs a few weekends ago and now its 123 all over. sighhhs. really hate the accounting software, what would be completed manually within a day's assignment now took me 2 days. totally duno how to use the software man. sians to the max.
and im so sick of spending every weekend studying and doing work. so sick of the routine. i am literally a book worm, and worst still i think im turning into a woodblock soon! limited social life.
i want to exercise, i want to start running again. i know i want to, but what's stopping me? miss running on sa's track. those days during pe while we train for napha test. so fun. feel yourself going against the wind, feel your body working out and best of all feeling fit and healthy. okay decided, im gonna visit the gym next week after submitting all the assignments. :)

daylight saving time
while i was in the toilet just now after showering, i heard my neighbour singing! GOSH that is very bad news because that means all this while while i was bathing, my neighbours could actually hear me sing too!!! SHIT.
from yesterday onwards melbourne will be ahead of singapore time by 3 hours. originally 2 but from yesterday onwards until april 2009, it will be 3. no wonder my lappie's time suddenly changed on sunday, from 2pm to 3pm and i was like, eh? what happen, i looked at the alarm clock on my table and my laptop's time, very smart me decided something must be wrong with the laptop's time so i changed it and started to live my life one hour behind everyone else's. haha. so i happily reported late for tennis by an hour today, still thinking why are my tennis mates different. really a big joke man, it was then that i knew about this daylight saving time thing. so every year around october they will change the time and tune it to be an hour ahead so there is more daylight, like 6pm become 7pm, so by 7pm there will still sunlight and the day is kind of extended. and they will change the time back again by next year.
luckily i have no lessons today if not i would have missed all of them. its so annoying! don't tamper with time leh, body clock cannot be changed that easily one okay. angry already lah.
school's gonna start tomorrow and i kind of regretted not starting on my assignments early. :(( die, so going to die if i cant finish my assignments by this weekend.

singapore day
singapore day turn out to be a small disappointment, probably because again i was too overly excited over it and expecting too much from it. the royal melbourne show was too good to be compared with singapore day but of course its unfair to compare because the scale of the show was so much bigger.
the aim of singapore day is actually to "remind" overseas singaporeans that singapore is their home, singapore has transformed into such an attractive country to reside in that everybody overseas should come home with their families and stay back home. so there are booths like army booth (probably to show that sg is a safe country to live in? i duno! haha), education booth (to show how well-rounded sg's education system is so that people who are thinking to start a family or who have already started should bring their children back for education) and of course not to forget food booth the ultimate climax of the day. they brought in char kuay teow, hokkien mee, chicken rice, satay, grilled chicken wings, nasi lemak, roti prata, nasi briyani (im not sure about this but i remembered seeing someone eating it!) bah chor mee (omg my mee pok!), claypot rice, spaghetti (i duno what's so authentic about spaghetti because its not like we're italy, but they brought it over anyway), chendol and ice kachang. i hope i didn't miss anything.
yarh that's alottt of food, but i only got to eat chicken rice, char kuay teow, satay and chicken wing because the queues are like crazy. our chicken rice, char kuay teow and satay cost us around 1 and a half hour of our time, though the food are free, but ahem, in an economist point of view (yah economist that's me) it is not!
there were performances too, by hardy, tay ping hui and pck and family. the show by pck and family was really really good, haha really laugh out loud can. i want to sing engrish shongs, and there was this dispute over the pronunciation of esplanade, esplanade or esplanut because chu kang kept insisting it was esplanut, and it ended with pck asking nah-than or nad-than. haha everybody was like, okay nothing to rebutt and rosy said nat-han. my goodness so stupid can. haha stupid until its so funny cannot take it.
this singapore day left me more homesick than ever, not because their aim of reminding us singapore is our home was being met, (like anyone needs reminder of where our home is, if some people need then i rather the country not have these people because they'll definitely be the first to run if anything happens! home is home! okay! don't understand why some people can just migrate away from the lovely sunny island. they must be mad! mad!) but because of those familiar smell of hawker centre and coffeshop that float around us when we're queuing for food, those familiar accent coming from people right left front and back of us, familiar singaporean faces (yes singaporeans do have a face i realise!) we see when we walk everywhere just struck me on how much i wanted to be back home at that moment. to be back in the familiar environment and around familiar people, to be walking on real city hall land, eating in the real newton circus, strolling along the real marina bay looking out and taking photo with a real esplanade. the reason why i put so many real is because they tried to create the sg feel by putting up pictures of esplanade, roadsigns of city hall, marina bay, newton circus and clarke quay. haha. so cute. yeah so if you say sg day can help ease some of our homesickness, it is definitely a big WRONG comment to pass. (is my wrong big enough?)
my goodness i sound like a big baby crying for mum, never would i want to admit i am homesick because i never thought i would. but now, no choice arh, spurred by the continuous dreams i've been having these few nights, of being back home. actually secretly everybody around me are homesick and wants to go home, don't think i never notice arh! haha! nothing escape my eyes~ (yah talk cock) what's with the rush of changing flight dates when the exam time table is out even though its only a few days of difference. what's with the excitement in the air when october arrives because we're another month closer to going home.
but i must calm down! this two months will be a very crucial period of time, its everything we're working for and i must do well for the exams, so i mustn't be too carried away by the excitement of being able to go home. end of singapore day also means end of mid-sem break, tomorrow onwards its back to the mundane routine. on a brighter side though, the routine will only last for another 59 days!!! :DDD
alamak, despite all that was being said (typed?), the excitement still kept surging through me. i am already thinking about 2nd dec night, i think i might fall asleep early, because time pass faster when we're asleep, and when i open my eyes the next day, I AM GOING TO GO HOME!!! my heart might burst open with happiness and excitement on the plane back, a few hours away from home... :)

mid-sem break
i've found something to excite my breakfast menu and that is garlic bread!!! my goodness how delicious can garlic bread get, damn shiok. haha. garlic bread with mushroom soup, slurps. im gonna try garlic bread with milk tea tmr, its so nice its nice on its own! haha and i just realise my microwave actually have oven functions too! woohoo apple pies here i come.
okay enough of food. i have confirmed my return flight this december and I AM GOING HOME ON 3 DECEMBER!!!!!!!! WAHAHA. "i want the world to know, i want to shout it out loud, that this is where i know i belong~~~" =DDDD my exam timetable is out too, my last paper is on 24 november, so actually i can go back earlier! but too bad all the flights are full, and i need some time to pack my stuff and shift house too. so, oh well, 3dec it shall be then. oh yah i am shifting away from my current apartment! madness the rent in melbourne is crazy, increase exponentially over time. especially my apartment, too over for the location, though size is really good for the price i am paying NOW.
mmm spring has finally arrive. i see flowers i smell wind (smell of wind haha). but crazy melbourne weather, can get so hot in the afternoon with its blazing sun and yet so freezing cold at night. sometimes even cold the entire day, so unstable that i duno what to wear when i go out!
anyways mid-sem break is almost coming to an end, and that means my assignment deadlines are nearing... gosh dun care first. went to the royal melbourne show last wednesday, its something like an annual carnival in melbourne and it turn out to be a great deal of fun! haha. ALOTT of people especially families and the atmosphere's really cool, with people wearing wigs of all colours, and explosive ones too! african explosive hair, we were so tempted to get one and wear too haha. and big and exaggerating shades and hat. so sad i din manage to take a photo of those funny specs and hat. anyway its quite hard to also.
went to the tulip farm last saturday, for this one i think the photos will speak much better for me. so i'll upload them onto facebook later. actually wanted to go strawberry farm too, but the season's not quite right yet, so have to give it a miss for now. there are alot more tourist attractions around here that i want to visit leh, really hope one day can finish visiting all. i want to take puffing billy!!! =(( somehow reminds me of hogwarts express, with all the steam and scenery along its route. haha. i also want to be a witch! i want to eat all flavour beans (bogey flavour haha!) on hogwarts express and i want dumbledore to be my headmaster!! haha he's so cute. (cries* dumbledore died!!! NO!) heard that the half blood prince movie is postponed to june is it? WHYYYY?!!!! waited for so long already!!! HUMPH!
this saturday is singapore day in melbourne and i am soooo looking forward to it!!! haha cant wait mans. phua chu kang is coming!! =DDD and i really want to eat my mee pok leh! lol.
